For hours now, Metro Manila has been battered by strong winds and consistent rainfall. Although there isn't much rain, it has been steady and the winds are just unrelenting. All of this has been given a name, and it's called Typhoon Pedring. And around this time in 2009, Metro Manila has seen the worst 8-hour typhoon so far that caused catastrophic flooding, damage to properties, and claimed lives of unsuspecting residents of Metro Manila and some northern provinces. That devastation too had a name, and it was called Typhoon Ondoy. I hope that this time around, all of us -- the government and our country's people --, have learned from that tragedy and have taken steps to save lives, your own and others, by being prepared and staying updated by tuning in to news, and using all the tools of both technology and nature towards keeping safe.
My share, I'll be compiling news on suspension of classes especially for the Tertiary (College) level where class suspension doesn't depend on storm signal, but the announcement from individual school administration. But remember, as of now, classes in pre-school, elementary, and highschool are suspended automatically in areas that are under SIGNAL 2, but for emphasis, here's the list of areas where there are suspension for :
